An Honour
Before you read on, I want to share it is an honour to have you here. It is also an honour to sojourn with you, creating and making space for your own unique journey that will explore deeper healing, integration, and wholeness.
I understand that women birth life and death and that each experience is a sacred one. In this retreat, there will be times where you can sojourn on your own as well as then join in a communal experience of walking on and through together.
Each participant will receive a Good Mourning Journal as well as a Rewind Candle — both items behold, embody, and invite a reimagined experience of loss. The journal taps into our body as a place of healing and wisdom, of knowledge bearing that encourages and fosters wholeness. Trauma can lead us to compartmentalize and even for different parts of our bodies to dissociate themselves from our hearts. This journal invites a re-integration and through this beckons the invitation that there may just be found a greater wholeness through loss than we previously imagined. The candle symbolizes a beauty discovered through a repurposed process—an empty wine bottle formerly seen as used and spent now becomes a completely recreated product that is incredibly beautiful and unlike the wine bottle.
I can’t wait to have you join in this process and experience your courage and bravery as you move through and beyond this experience of yours while also always having it with you.
“This journal couldn’t come at a timelier moment. So many of us are struggling with grief and loss without the necessary support and comfort of close family and friends. This journal is that close friend. Jessie’s gentle voice, filled with compassion, is a guide and source of comfort throughout each week of the year. The journal’s invitations set you on a course of true healing - healing that can only come from taking the time to process the pain, paying attention, and opening yourself to transformation.”
“The Good Mourning Journal has been an inspiring and supportive part of my grieving process. Jessie’s tone is warm and encouraging and I found the practical approach of rooting my grief in my body and my physical experience was transformative. Having a weekly practice to turn to makes the journey feel manageable - like a supportive friend there to guide you and get you through each day. I think the journal is a road-map to peace and acceptance.”
