The Good Mourning Journal
The Good Mourning Journal
Grief arises from loss—any kind of loss—and loss, at its most basic level, is a change. This change may be subtle or grand, natural or traumatic, societal or incredibly personal. Harnessing the power of Love—with a capital L—Jessie Lipps has created a gentle and approachable journal for you or a loved one in need of processing unresolved grief and loss.
Grounded in arts-based research, this journal guides and befriends the journaler into good mourning that can be healing and nourishing at a time when we most need it but can rarely find it for ourselves. Couched in a pedagogy that Love heals, the journal includes 52 invitations categorized into four seasons: comfort, courage, curiosity, and contemplation. While the invitations build off of each other, the journaler can start wherever she finds resonance. All prompts are listed upfront to allow the greatest flexibility and creativity in one’s stages of grief and mourning.
